by Friend Recipes

Lemon truffles are made from creamy white chocolate. You can dip this delicious unbaked delicacy in melted white chocolate or sprinkle it with powdered sugar. They are perfect for gift giving and really quick and easy to make. These easy lemon truffles made with cream cheese and golden Oreos are the perfect sweet treat for spring parties, summer barbecues, Easter, baby showers, or as gifts.

These white chocolate lemon truffles are one of the most popular of all. White chocolate truffles are delicious on their own, but the addition of fresh lemon brightens them up and elevates them to new heights.

TIPS FOR MAKING WHITE CHOCOLATE LEMON TRUFFLES

In a medium bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and set aside.

Melt the butter with the lemon zest in a small saucepan. After adding thick cream, scald the mixture (bring just before boiling). Pour the cream mixture over the white chocolate pieces through a fine sieve. Stir in lemon essence and optional food coloring until the mixture is smooth.

Refrigerate the chocolate mixture for 30 minutes or until firm enough to handle.

From the chocolate mixture, we make a heaped spoonful of balls. Roll the balls in powdered sugar to coat them.

Let the truffles cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.

WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE NEEDED FOR THIS MEAL?

  • 1-cup small white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • One lemon peel
  • 3 tbsp. thick whipping cream
  • Half a teaspoon of lemon essence
  • 2-3 teaspoons of yellow food coloring (optional)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

RECIPE TIPS:

Lime: Use green food coloring and key lime essence to make white chocolate truffles.

Use orange food coloring and orange essence to make white chocolate and orange cream truffles.

Basic White Chocolate: To make a plain white chocolate truffle, simply omit the bark and flavor extract.

CAN WE FREEZE WHITE CHOCOLATE LEMON TRUFFLES?

Truffles can be frozen for up to a month. Freeze in a zip lock freezer bag between layers of freezer paper. I recommend freezing the desserts on a sheet first so they do not stick together before you put them in the bag.

HOW CAN IT BE STORED IN THE REFRIGERATOR?

Store these easy lemon truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

CAN WE USE LEMON JUICE INSTEAD OF LEMON EXTRACT?

It is not something I would suggest. I have had mixed results using fresh lemon juice, which causes the mixture to separate.

WHAT CAN BE SERVED WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE LEMON TRUFFLES?

You can serve it with different cookies like Italian cookies and snow globe cookies; this part is very lovely to share on any special occasion.

In addition, she has more ideas to enjoy with Truffles, such as Iced Tea, Raspberry Iced Tea, Sweet Peach Iced Tea, or our Southern Strawberry Sweet Tea.
