Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a classic dessert dish that is popular in the United States. It is made up of three layers: a pretzel crust, a cream cheese filling, and a layer of strawberry Jello on top.

The crust is made of crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter. It is baked until it becomes crunchy and golden brown. The cream cheese filling is a mixture of cream cheese, sugar, and whipped cream that is spread over the cooled crust.

The top layer is made of strawberry Jello mixed with sliced fresh strawberries, which are spread over the cream cheese filling. The Jello sets in the fridge, creating a sweet and tangy layer that contrasts perfectly with the crunchy and creamy layers beneath it.

Easy Judy’s Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Strawberry Pretzel Salad is often served at potlucks, picnics, and family gatherings. It is a refreshing and sweet dessert that is perfect for summertime. It is also easy to customize by using different flavors of Jello or adding different fruits to the top layer.

TIPS FOR MAKING STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD

Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a bowl, mix the pretzels, the first amount of sugar, and the melted butter. Press into the bottom of pan 9 x 13, which has been lightly oiled. Only 10 minutes in the oven. Remove from the oven. Allow cooling completely.

In a medium bowl, mix the remaining sugar and cream cheese until smooth. Spread the whipped frosting evenly on the cooled crust. Cover the crust with the whipped topping so that the gelatin does not get into it later. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until set.

Trawberry Pretzel Salad is known for its unique combination of sweet and salty flavors and different textures. The pretzel crust adds a salty crunch to the dessert, while the creamy and sweet filling and the fruity Jello topping balance the flavors.

The dish is believed to have originated in the Southern United States and has become a beloved classic dessert in many households. It is often served as a dessert at holidays such as Easter and Christmas, but it’s also perfect for any occasion that calls for a delicious and impressive dessert.

In a medium bowl, combine the gelatin mixture and boiling water. Mix with frozen strawberries until thawed. Pour the mixture over the cream cheese into the pan. Refrigerate for at least one hour or until completely chilled.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR THIS STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD:

  • 1 to 1/2 cup crushed pretzels
  • 4-1/2 teaspoons white sugar 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 2 packages (8 oz. each) of cream cheese
  • 1 tub 8oz Whipped Topping (similar to Cool Whip), thawed 1 package strawberry flavored gelatin, 6 oz. package
  • 2 cups 1 tub (16oz tub) frozen strawberries with sugar, store frozen

CAN I MAKE THIS PRETZEL SALAD WITH STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD?

You can completely substitute frozen strawberries for the fresh strawberries called for in this recipe. I recommend thawing them slightly before adding them to the Jell-O mixture and working quickly, as frozen strawberries will cause the gelatin to set faster and be more difficult to pour evenly over the top of the cheesecake.

CAN YOU USE HOMEMADE WHIPPED CREAM INSTEAD OF FROZEN WHIPPED CREAM?

You can make your own whipped cream for the strawberry pretzel salad, but we prefer to use a whipped cream like Cool Whip. Homemade whipped cream does not last as long and could spoil.

HOW DO YOU KEEP THE STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD LAYERS FROM STICKING TOGETHER?

To keep the layers of strawberry pretzel salad crisp and separate, spread a layer of cream cheese all the way to the edges of the plate before refrigerating. The strawberry jelly layer will spill all the way to the bottom if there are any holes.
